Who We Help in Birmingham, AL

Our Birmingham-based program is designed to provide an intensive treatment plan for people experiencing severe symptoms of:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Major depressive disorder
  • Bipolar disorder and mood instability
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Trauma-related conditions
  • PTSD
  • Other significant mood or anxiety-related challenges

We do not provide treatment for patients experiencing active psychosis, psychiatric emergencies requiring inpatient care, or primary substance use disorders that need addiction treatment. In most cases, Medicare and Medicaid will not cover the services that IOP provides.

Bridging the Mental Health Care Gap in Birmingham

You know you need to get your mental health to a stable state, and you want to, but you can never seem to find the “right time” for treatment. You can’t just drop everything to stay at UAB or Grandview for inpatient psychiatric care for a week (or more). But still, you feel that one weekly therapy session just isn’t giving you enough support.

We know just how stressful it can be to need a higher level of mental health support, but never finding treatment avenues that don’t involve uprooting your life. IOP Services helps you bridge that gap.
