Dr. Thomas is a board certified adult and child psychiatrist. She completed her “Triple Board” residency training at the University of Kentucky. In addition, she is board certified in Pediatrics. After finishing her training, Dr. Thomas did consult work in many settings, including community mental health, Department of Juvenile Justice, inpatient adult and child psychiatry units, and the University of Kentucky CATS clinic (evaluating traumatized children and families).
She has particular interests in Reactive Attachment Disorder, PTSD, and early onset psychotic disorders. She also enjoys working with a wide variety of patients with ADHD, autistic spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety.
Although her pediatric background makes her particularly well suited to evaluate and treat children with complicated genetic, developmental, or physical health issues, Dr. Thomas treats patients of all ages. She continues to treat adults on an inpatient basis and enjoys teaching nurse practitioners and medical students.
